ABOUT US

Friday morning coffee for the ladies in Port Royal Plantation is an informal social gathering of friends and newcomers in our community. It is the ideal way to become acquainted with new neighbors and an easy way to maintain or renew old friendships. With no formal dues and no reservations required, joining us on Friday mornings makes integration into the social fabric of Port Royal Plantation a breeze.

Meetings are held on Friday mornings between 10:00 a.m. and noon, with a few exceptions during the year. The first hour is always dedicated to tasty treats and socializing, while the latter part of the meeting is more structured and devoted to information about our plantation and events/parties our members may be interested in attending. The business portion of the meeting is usually kept to 30-40 minutes. For those ladies who are unable to attend during the day, we also have 3-4 evening coffees per year.  We call these 'Twilight Coffee' and serve appetizers with wine and other beverages.

We regularly send out e-mails to update members on our schedules and activities. Each week a volunteer hosts a coffee at her home or one may choose to co-host (with others) an informational event scheduled for the Beach House. A sign-up calendar is available at meetings and the monthly schedule is printed in the Trident on the first of every month. Throughout the year, holiday parties sponsored by the coffee ladies are held at the Beach House. Spouses and houseguests are welcome and encouraged to join us. Our guest speakers are always informative, but never political or religious in nature as we try to appeal to a broad audience.

We have organized outings a few times a year to various interesting or historical sites near Hilton Head such as Fort Fremont on St. Helena Island and Rose Hill Mansion near Bluffton. Our desire is to provide an opportunity to promote friendship, discuss and share common interests, and give caring support in times of need. Please consider joining us!
